Macbook

The game does not only dive into the phone and tablet market, Apple also specializes in Macbook and iMacs as well, which are laptops and computers respectively.

iMac was the first desktop by Apple. Firstly, it was introduced as Macintosh. Steve Jobs introduced this while this key line, “Soon, there will be two types of people. One who uses computers, and one who uses Apple.” Slowly over time, it tried to compact in its size and give more things with accordance to what technology provided us back in the early 1990s.

Soon enough, in 1998, iMac was born.

It differs from all the computers that was in the market, giving it a futuristic look back then. This computer was made for its internet accessibility! Over the years, it became more slim and equipped with better quality and eventually became..

This thin looking piece of technology gave a whole different perspective to what a desktop should look like. The screen allows one to be comparable to a television screen!

Laptops however are more relevant in the current days, which brings us to MacBooks. Macbooks came out first in 2006. Here’s a quick video, where Steve Jobs announces the first ever Macbook!

It was the first Apple laptop with an iSight camera built-in (until that point, you had to drag an external iSight camera around), it had an infra-red sensor that let you manipulate FrontRow with an Apple Remote and it introduced the magnetic “MagSafe” power connector (the charger), which allowed quick, simple cord detachment (to prevent the laptop from being dragged off a surface if you accidentally snagged the cord).

2 years after, the MacBook Pro was released. A redesigned MacBook Pro with a precision unibody enclosure carved from a single block of aluminum and a multi-touch glass trackpad (much like the one most MacBook Pro version users are using now in 2017). This was happening about eight months after Jobs took the wraps off Apple’s MacBook Air, the company’s folder-thin ultraportable, making the new Pro unveiling less of a radical departure than a high-end integration maneuver — a way of folding the high-end MacBook lineup into Apple’s new, unibody design aesthetic inaugurated by the Air.

MacBook Air is much like a sister, an underweight sister. However, it was much looked to as in gave users an alternative option, a lightweight option. Functionabilty would not be as strong as a Pro due to its limited compatabilities, but it is still a usable laptop!

Back to the MacBook Pro, in 2009, the 13-inch unibody MacBook would be adopted by the Pro family and become its entry-level model, no one’s jaw hit the floor. However, the 13-inch MacBook Pro went on to become Apple’s bestselling MacBook laptop ever. I am a proud user of this model and I vouch that it is still the longest and sustainable laptop ever. I might be an avid Apple fan, but this laptop has all the minimum functions which is suffice.

Over the next few years, better processors were added and the Retina display Macbook was released. It was not much of an upgrade but rather it was still an improvement in its kind. Till up to 2016, they integrated the touchbar into the Macbook, removing the top bar of what is in the MacBooks now, which have accessibility to control the screen brightness, volume and the power on/off button.

However it may be, I still love how simple the laptop can be. It is different from Microsoft as the quality of what you use is different, using it’s own interface to do work. It sets you away from your competition, giving you a place in the market to fight for because the work is original. What is different about this is the way you use the laptop, giving it much a futuristic perspective to every user, making them proud of what they are using.

  1. MacBook has always been a dream laptop for me. it is light, and compactable, but it is too expensive for a laptop, which is why i didnt get when i was buying a laptop 😦 but i really enjoy the retina display that most Apple products have in fact! it is something that is uniquely Apple!
